Award-winning composer, arranger, and orchestrator John Tafone was born and raised in Westerly, RI. As a teen, he became the youngest full-season pops orchestrator in the country. He continued his studies in composition in Washington DC and in the U.K. at Oxford University.
John has written for numerous TONY and GRAMMY award-winning artists, as well as for the US Open, and the wedding of Olivia Culpo and Christian McCaffery. His work has been performed at Christ Church Cathedral (UK), the Kennedy Center (Washington, D.C.), PPAC, the New York Musical Theatre Festival, and as part of the True Concord’s “Close-Up” series. John has also orchestrated for various film, video game, and theatrical productions. His work has been featured on PBS and NPR.
He is also known for his collaborations with his cousin, lyricist and book-writer Elena Tafone.
